How far in advance should I register my child with Freekids?

The waiting lists for childcare and out-of-school care are growing. It is therefore our advice to fulfill the registration far in advance, so that you are assured of a care place. Also, we can always make some changes for you if necessary.

When do I have an intake interview?

At least one month before your child begins working at Freekids, you will be contacted by the Freekids office for an intake interview. During the intake interview, the manager/ pedagogical staff member will inform you about the working methods at the facility and the Freekids house rules. Of course, you can also indicate your wishes and expectations here.

How long is the notice period?

The notice period is 1 month. If you want to cancel before the end date of the contract, the term of notice of 1 month applies in all cases. Even if you want to take one day less, there is a notice period of 1 month.

Can my child stay with Freekids after he/she turns 12?

Yes, you can, Freekids offers childcare until the age of 13 if your child attends elementary school. This is only possible if this can be maintained within the group and until the day before your child's 13th birthday. An early cancellation is subject to a notice period of 1 month, as is a cancellation for one or more days.

Vacations and study days

What is the notice period for cancellation?

If you cancel your placement, there is a notice period of 1 month before the first day of placement. If you do not cancel in time, the cost of care until the day your agreement ends will be charged. For an interim cancellation, a notice period of 1 month applies, as well as a cancellation for one or more days.

When are vacation days?

All days that fall in the 11-week recognized school vacations. These can be found at www.schoolvakanties-nederland.nl. Some schools have more vacation weeks in the year. As a parent, you should consider any additional bills for days taken outside the recognized vacation weeks.

When are the study days?

All days off that fall outside the 11 weeks recognized school vacations or portions of those days. For example: Good Friday, the Friday after Ascension Day, Whit Monday, etc. Also study days of your child's school that fall on the childcare days you purchase from us. On these study days you only pay for the additional hours, i.e. from 08.00 in the morning until the time when regular childcare starts.

Do you use package 1 or 2 for after-school care? Then you can reserve care on study days in advance through the parent portal.

What rate is charged if a study day falls on a regular care afternoon?

Study days are not included in the 11 weeks of vacation, but neither are they included in the 41 weeks of school. For this reason, study days are not included in the 41 weeks for which you have an agreement with Freekids. You will have to purchase an extra day if a study day falls on a regular afternoon. This applies to both package 1 and package 2.

Transportation

How do I sign my child out of transportation?

Do I have to sign my child out? And what if my child is sick or does not come? If your child cannot come to childcare for a day, we would like to be informed in time. Please inform the Front Office of Freekids Childcare before 11.00 am. You can reach us at telephone number: 075-6409223.

What happens if I don't sign my child out on time?

We handle with care the responsibility you give us in transporting your child. The moment your child is not signed out, we take immediate action to find out where your child is and why they are not there. In case of a false alarm, this causes unnecessary anxiety. Without cancellation, we will always take your child to care. Is your child sick or will your child play with someone else? Please always let us know at 075-6409223.

How is transportation arranged at Freekids?

Freekids ensures that the children cared for with us are picked up from school and reach the after-school care safely. At Freekids sites located in schools, transportation is obviously not provided.

What are the Freekids cars?

Part of the transportation is provided by the Freekids educational staff. Children are transported in our Freekids cars. The pedagogical staff can be recognized by their orange Freekids jacket when picking up the children.

Can my child also be picked up on foot?

In some cases, if the school is located a short distance from Freekids, children are picked up on foot. The pedagogical staff members are recognizable by their orange Freekids jacket when picking up the children.

How does the Freekids cab work?

The other part of the children is picked up by transportation company Noot Personenvervoer. When picking up the children, the drivers wear a recognizable Freekids badge and they have a list with the children's first and last names. Noot passenger transport employees have a valid driver's pass. This lets you know that your child is being transported by a licensed driver.

The distribution of rides among the various carriers is based on group size, available vehicles and distance from school to Freekids.

My child is going to another elementary school, now what?
